Ready to wed

So you're engaged? CONGRATULATIONS! We're excited to accompany you on this incredible journey, and want to provide with you some resources to help you get started.

Step 1: BuY the book

You both should purchase the book, Ready to Wed, by Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley. This book takes a comprehensive look at everything you will need to start building a healthy marriage. It's loaded with examples, suggestions, and instructions based on the 12 traits of a thriving marriage, and it will help you leverage this engagement season to build the foundation you need.

Step 2: Download the app

Download the Ready to Wed App (iOS only) and use it to work through the book, one chapter each week. This companion app to the Ready to Wed book, provides the opportunity to have some fun and grow closer to Jesus Christ alongside your fiancé, as you walk through your engagement journey.

Step 3: Individually Complete the Couple Checkup

The Couple Checkup helps describe how one person perceives the relationship.

The Voucher code (see below) allows you or your fiancé(e) to complete an Individual Profile, which describes how one person perceives the relationship. Then upgrade, and have your fiancé(e) take their half of the Couple Checkup and receive the full Couple Checkup Report, a 20-25 page report that will be extremely valuable. As a Ready to Wed couple, you can complete the Checkup at a 30% discount!

To Start the Free Individual Profile:

  1. Click the “Get Started” button above

  2. On the Couple Checkup site, click “Get Started”

  3. Type in the Voucher Code: CCBOOK—READY—TOWED

Step 4: Join Accountability/Mentoring Groups

Now that you have your Couples Checkup, we'll pair you with a "veteran" couple to informally go through your list and to answer any questions you may have. If you haven't already, sign up for a mentor through STSA (for the women) and an accountability group (for the men). The next enrollment will open in the Fall 2019 -- look for announcements late summer.

We will make every effort to match you up with another couple who will mentor you through this time of engagement (and beyond!). We can’t emphasize enough (both from research and personal experience!) how important it is to have the support and encouragement of a “veteran” couple to walk alongside you!

Questions? Email, and we'll get back to you shortly.
